I'm thinking of getting a Graslon Insight Diffuser and was wondering if anyone here has used one and what do they think of it.....Looks like a pretty good idea on paper.

I like my 99 cent BFT (black foamie thing)...it's worth a try at that price.

Looks interesting on virtual paper but I don't see myself buying one for the work I do.
I like the directional quality I can get by bouncing when possible or use the compact Lite Genius when I can't.
Still, some food for thought there. Interesting product.

I have a Graslon prodigy which yields pretty good results but it's bulky and heavy and frequently falls off. It also cost $60. I much prefer my Stoffen Omni Bounce which is a relatively cheap plastic dome diffuser which fits over
The flash

Think I will wait then. Will it be eligible for Amazon Prime free shipping?

If you have a POWERFULL flash, I have had excellent results on weddings with a "LUMIQUEST" 80-20 for a room with normal ceilings...You would however need a rotating flash bracket to do verticals. Today, I mostly use a Gary Fong litesphere with a "chrome-dome" the way he shows how to use it by utilizing your flash "perendicular', with the internal chrome dome reflector facing your subject...No more redeye, and VERY smooth flattering light , and NO NEED for a flash bracket! I usually bump My 16 mpxl D7000 from 800 to 1600 with only very minor noise reduction,(if ANY at all!) in PS CC.

I've only read about the Graslon, and have no experience with it

Good luck with you choice!
Eddie

To make a light softer you need to make the source relatively larger. So bouncing the light, or using one of those Tupperware diffusers to bounce the light will make the light larger thus softer. Using the Graslon Insight Diffuser probably not so much.
