Does anybody have any experience with sony A6000 cameras? I found one used and would like to know if it's worth buying.

I read that the auto focus is not as good as what it replaced. Is this true? I wounded why it's used.

He's pretty enthusiastic about the camera.

Hope this helps.

The other link to Gary Fong didn't work but yours did thanks. Wow what a camera this is. Minolta has come a long way since Sony bought them. One of my first cameras was a Minolta SRT 101. I'll have to think hard about this camera.

I rented one with a couple of lenses last June. The focus is amazingly fast, and I got some terrific images. It is a real bargain. I have been a photographer for sixty years, and it is the best APS-C camera I've ever used.

I own an a6000. It takes great pictures and has some terrific features. It does burn through the battery power very quickly so a back up battery is a big plus.

I have had mine for about 4 months now, and think it is absolutely fantastic. I took my Canon 5D11 plus lenses to China recently, plus the a6000 and found that I used the Sony far more than the Canon. It takes very sharp images, can be used with one hand, and if you use it in the Scene mode, you can use it in very low light situations and get amazing pics. If I didn't have a bunch of Canon L series lenses, I might consider selling the 5D and buying the Sony DSLR - and I might do that anyway as there is a lens adaptor available. If you can buy a Sony a6000 secondhand, DO NOT hesitate!

Don't think hard, just GO AND GET IT! (I know, I am shouting at you, but quite deliberately!) See my post above, I LOVE this little camera.

^^^People tend to forget that Sony bought out Minolta... one of the three giants of the Japanese camera industry and THE pioneer of 35mm Autofocus and wireless flash.

They say Sony and think Walkman... but Minolta now Sony was/is one of the most innovate companies in the business.

The A6000 is a fantastic camera, ESPECIALLY for the price point, and features make it one of the best cameras available for less than $1000 regardless of format.

BTW... I had an SR-T 101 also. NICE camera. I replaced it with the XD-11 which I kept for 25 years.

LUV IT !! The glass is a big plus; although considered "mediocre" by several reviewers, they all point out that the internal processing software does a great job reducing or totally eliminating CA,barrel distortion, etc. Bottom line ........ absolutely my favorite camera after 60 years of shooting!
