I promised to take a shot of my new X100T rig that I'm using on my trip to San Diego in December.

I'm bucking the UHH trend of taking the kitchen sink.

All I'm going to take (camera wise) is in this shot.

Here is the list:

X100T (fixed lens 35mm equiv)

WCL-X100 converter lens (changes focal length to 28mm.)

Instax-SP1 portable battery operated printer.

A few extra SD cards, a few extra batteries.

Not shown: iPad Air and Macbook Pro.

That's it. (well...a few charging cables and things also)

I'm either going to jam all this into my backpack with my clothes or take the bag you see here. I'm NOT going to check a bag...it's strictly carryon for me.

I'm definitely going to bring back pictures of me eating Mexican food!! Yay...San Diego...the Mecca of great Mexican food. (sorry anyone from Texas...it's just the truth)

Lol...I sold my canon gear a few years ago and went to all Fuji mirrorless.

My back couldn't take anymore! :)

San Diego's Not the only place for Mexican food! Arizona and New Mexico have outstanding Mexican food that is distinctively different from each other and San Diego.

Looking forward to seeing what you come back with!

(I hope to take a trip to England in the Spring, and I am tempted to take just my A7 with the FE Zeiss 35mm. On that note, does the Fuji have in-camera panorama? If so, what will you get with the 28mm focal length that you wouldn't with in-camera panorama?)

(By the way, I grew up in and lived in San Diego for 35 years. Been in Austin for 6 months. The Mexican food hear kicks SD's ass.)

The 28mm just gives a different perspective while shooting; a different relationship between objects near/far.

Before the focal length police come out in force to explain why I"m wrong and that distance is the ONLY factor...save your breath...I'm just generalizing.

The Fuji does have pano and some times I use it but generally I might just stitch a few together if I need that.

And as far as the mexican food goes?

Uh...no way :)

Curious as to why you're taking both. I would think a smartphone (iPhone I suspect in your case) and the Macbook would be sufficient.

No one boils steak or mints potatoes as well as the Brits!

Great to simplify life...I've been doing that on my work trips lately...1 body and one lens (usually the 25 or 12-40).

Be sure to make your way out to Cabrillo NP...during low tide. Check their hours, I think they close the park up at 5pm (which is a shame, since the sunset out there would be great). Bring shoes with grip.
