How often has this happened to you? My wife were driving out of our neighborhood, heading to St. Augustine for some late afternoon photography, when we passed by a group of people standing on the side of the road. In the middle of the group was this nice lady on a bicycle, with a lovely parrot on her hand. I had to stop and grab a couple of pictures.

Thanks ebbote!

I never would have found that out (because I forgot to ask while I was taking the pictures!).

Hey Linda! Yep, we have those in spades around here.

Love the shots, but it always gives me the willies to see a bird untethered outdoors. I've helped too many people recover...or try to recover...their "she-would-never fly-away" (or, "her wings were clipped; I just don't understand how she could still fly") pet parrots.

Nice captures Howard. These guys really live old and it must do their morale a lot of good.

Nice shots of a pretty YNA. This one seems much more personable than mine. My guy is a green feathered shark. It's not "if" he's going to bite, it's "when", "where", and "how bad".

Thanks Selkii. In all of the years I've lived down here (18 now), I've never seen any other pet bird outdoors. I hope she doesn't make a habit of it!

Thanks for the kind words George. I'm afraid I know pretty much nothing about birds, beyond the parakeet my grandmother had when I was a young boy.

Thanks twhrider, much appreciated. My favorite cat loves to play rough, and my hands and arms have the scars to prove it! :D
