Your opening a big can of worms with this Wanda.
Sony makes great cameras. no doubt about that.

It kind of depends on what type of photography
your in to. if you want a small camera like a
point and shoot, this is one of the very best.

If your into sports or birds these are very unbalanced.
You have a huge lens on a little body.
It looks silly and it feels like your going to drop it.
If I have a big lens I want a big body to support it.

Enjoy your Sony and post some photo's.
Would love to see them.

Exceptional video. I have a couple of mirrorless cameras and started out with these cameras 18 months ago. I cut my teeth on a electronic viewfinder which showed me what my image would look like so I learned about aperature, shutter speed, exposure compensation faster because of the feedback of the electronic viewfinder.

The competition between the mirrorless leaders (Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, Fujifilm) means the true innovations in features and size reductions in camera and lenses come faster in time. The Sony A7s has true innovation of 4 stops of ISO range allowing amazing Very low light images. The Panasonic LX 100 has a micro 4/3 size sensor, 1.4-2.8 max aperature over 25-70 mm focal point zoom range, smart phone connectivity, and 4K in camera video that allows 8 megapixel still capture from the video. These features for $900 (including a fixed Leica zoom lens and it fits in your light jacket pocket. Mirrorless cameras have become very competitive with mirror cameras and are poised to leave them behind.

XXredbeardXX, I do not own a mirrorless camera, but I, too, have been surprised the companies of Nikon and Canon have not been the leaders in developing this type of camera, as having no mirror makes good sense to me. So, I won't be posting images from the Sony, but I thought others on this forum might find this video interesting, as I did.

Enjoy your Sony and post some photo's.
Would love to see them.

Thanks. Good video.

I understand what he is saying having bought a NEX-7 earlier this year. It is the predecessor to the a6000 and has many of the same features; most notable lack is WiFi.

I bought the NEX-7 for the first four features he discusses as compared to my Nikon D800. While I share his enthusiasm for the fact that Sony is well ahead of Nikon on technology, and in particular programming features, I am not about to give up my Nikon. I agree Nikon currently sucks on their mirrorless offering.

He doesn't discuss other features of the NEX-7 (and a6000 and probably other Sony's) such as Panorama capability and much better HDR capability that I find more compelling than his last 6 items. Sony also has some amazing low light/ image stabilization features that are well beyond Nikon.

The main HUGE advantage of Nikon he does not discuss is lens quality. Also compatibility across a long history. Admittedly Nikon blew this also on their mirrorless offering. My D800 takes significantly better images than my NEX-7.

Not sure when he made the video but Nikon has now incorporated some of the features; in particular WiFi in the D750.

I expect Nikon to close the Sony technology gap over time while maintaining the lens quality lead. When Nikon comes out with a Mirrorless D5300 my Sony is history.

All that said, I also get what he says about traveling with a Nikon brick. We have a European vacation planned next year and I've already decided I'm taking only the NEX-7.
