My beloved Canon SD600 won't turn on, Canon refuses to even try, can you imaging that?

6 years of pampered use and that's the way Canon responds, they even charged me for shipping, hum,

It's looked like this for the last 4 years, amazing that it worked until yesterday, was always there for emergencies.

You can use it to qualify for their loyalty program and upgrade.

Hmmmm That looks like my cell phone after a few months carrying it around at work and people wonder why I won't carry my Canon 5D MarkII around with me when I'm working. Yeah My job involves everything good Camera equipment is destroyed by. LOL... Thanks for sharing...Now I know I'm not the only one that can destroy stuff with out even trying.

I'm not surprised that they wouldn't fix it. A 6 year old P&S camera in a world where there's a new model every year is probably not worth the repair anyway, expense wise. And that has nothing to do with the exterior condition.

Here is a thought, try getting a used one cheap:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000EMWBT2/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used

The cost of repair would have exceeded one of these for sure.

Sorry about your loss.

Kinda like losing a member of the family. I get way to emotionally attached to some of the "stuff" I have. I need help!

R.I.P. Look at this in a posative way. Your Canon "is in a better place now."

And,...."You get that new camera you've been wanting!" It's a win-win situation.

This was my spare

It's looks a lot better cosmetically than my daily pocket camera, can't believe it's done. Oh well, I shudda bought a Nikon

That doesn't help much either. I round-filed my trusted old Nikon L18 last November after almost 7 years of faithful pocket duty! Never missed a lick until one day the shutter button was missing. Found it in a coat pocket but never could make it work again. (Kind of wish now that I had taken a pic, it was originally blue but by the time it died it was almost totally silver from the blue wearing off) I was out on a job so I had to duck in to Costco and pick up a Nikon S6100, best deal at the time. But I sure miss the convenience of using rechargeable AA batteries in it. Never easy to lose an old friend, especially when they still take such nice pics!

This Canon was always carried in a case, that's probably what broke it, no more cases for me, It'll be in my pocket bare back from now on, I'm tired of babying it anyway.

I think with all the new and improved technology out there, I would have been hoping it would have croaked a LONG time before it did so I could go buy new!!!! LOL But, I am female, and females come with a "shopping gene". It's in our DNA; especially attracted to shoes and cameras. :>)
