Can you stick it next to the 50-200, if you still have it?

It's a good lens, and I am still using the E-5 for tripod work, so no intention of "getting rid" of 4/3 stuff yet ;-)
Weight: 755 grams (1 lb 11 oz) against 1205 grams (2 lbs 11 oz)
Sunhoods removed. Also tripod collar removed from 40-150, can't be removed from 50-200.
M4/3 40-150 and 4/3 50-200

Thanks, that helps put it in perspective, so to speak! Still love my old 50-200, but dropping a pound in weight is significant. I seldom use the E30 any more, since the 50-200 and 12-60 work so well on the EM1.
That's the non SWD, right?

On the side it says "ED lens" and beside that "SWD Supersonic Wave Drive"
Thanks...then it would be the swd version...same one I had.
Both photos: Hand-held. Cropped from the original to make them a bit smaller. No other PP. Aperture priority.
Golden Ears: Unfortunately, even though it is a beautiful, sunny day, there is a lot of haze around.
f/8, 1/800 sec, ISO 200, focal length 52mm.
Northern "Red-Shafted" Flicker: Found this guy on the sundeck when I came home a few minutes ago. He/She's been promoted to "clean-up crew" - usually he hacks away at the suet block, first time I've seen him on the ground attacking the corn.
Also, this photo taken through a not-so-very clean double-paned glass door.
f/8, 1/125 sec, ISO 200, focal length 150mm
Great examples. Oye, I was hoping to pass on this lens, but of all the lenses I sold, the 50-200 ec-14 gave me a ton of great keepers. This lens would make my job as a second shooter at weddings a lot easier.
Now I just need to break the bad news to my wife.

So show her your good-will: Start by asking what she'd like for Christmas. Then get yourself a jar or coffee tin or some such, and once a week put all the change from your pockets in there.
Collect bottles and return them for their deposits - put the money in the jar as well.
You'll be amazed how fast the money adds up (as long as you don't "borrow" from it). Then after a few weeks, your wife just may agree.. ;-)
So, these two photos and the one of the cross-stitch picture were just plain guesswork, using the histogram as a guide.
This coming week, I'm going to try and not so much guess as deliberately combine A, E and ISO. By next spring or summer, when we go on holidays, this lens should feel very comfortable to use.
