Accidentally formatted an SD card.
Is there software available to try and retrieve
The photos? I have a7D, if that makes a
Difference. Thank you

So long as you didn't shoot with it after you reformatted, there is a good chance of recovery.
I use Lexar Image Recovery and Sandisc recovery software because they came with my cards but there are others out there.
This one has been mentioned here a lot:

Most brands of memory cards have their own recovery software.

This is very good for sandisk, not sure if it works on other cards.

Wish I'd known that a month ago. I lost some wedding pictures because of that problem.

was it the SD card or CF card? Usually once anything is Formated, it is GONE but if just deleted there is software of some of the cards' manufacturers. Check it out, look at the manufacturer's website and see if they have software that came with the card to retrieve your photos.

++++++++++++++++++

Odd Thing is that my 7D only takes CF cards???? Did canon make a 7D that will take an SD card, without an adapter???

There's a little free one called Recuva that does a decent job. A format doesn't actually erase the files but sets up a new File Allocation Table which then allows new files to be written over the old ones. If you haven't written new files on the card yet, all the old photo data is still on there.
