Vertical picture problem

I just posted 3 photos. One of them was in vertical format. When I clicked on "download" the picture turned sideways. Any body know why that happened?

If the picture was straight from the camera with no edit the capture has an EXIF flag that allows software to view it vertical. UHH does not use that flag so everything is horizontal.

That is all I can think of.

Your image, according to the Exif data, is 6000 pixels wide and 4000 pixels high. That is exactly what the image displayed for download shows!

The difference is that the Exif data also says the Orientation is "Rotate 270 CW", and the thumbnail display is honoring that while the display for download is not.

The best solution is probably to use an editor to rotate the image so that it is 4000 pixels wide and 6000 pixels high. The Orientation tag should also be changed to Normal. That way all software will see the image in "portrait mode", regardless.
