On the Sigma website they are announcing the new SD1 Merril camera.MSRP 2295.00. On B & H Photo, Amazon and other dealers list the SD1 at over $6000. I know that this is a 48 mp camera with magnesium body and "splash" proof, looking at the specs they look the same to me. The photos they posted of the web site are really nice. Has anyone else looked at this and what are your thoughts on this camera.
Price has been dropping like a rock since Nikon announced their 2 new offerings this year. MSRP was $9700 last summer!
interesting camera with its foveon sensor; it actually captures all three colors RGB, unlike most sensors out there that capture only one and then use demosaicing software to mimic the other two missing colors....
