yes, I remember - last time I screamed. Well this one is better though I still could scream (but won't cuz I know your learning) those hard lines in the background are just not flattering to Ms. Rose.

Now, my real criticism is simply this: this is not your best rose ever. It is a work in project........ see here is my only rose. Please c&c on it to your hearts delight,

Actually,it is an entirely diff picture,I like the softness of your rose,I was saying that I think this ,as far as focus, and not bad light,is for me ...as you said...better. :) Jen

I rarely comment on another person's work, but I feel your photo deserves a positive comment. You have presented a nicely balanced composition and have paid appropriate attention to the background. Often the background can make or break an image. Your use of negative space helps the balance. Thanks for posting.

sorry could not resist. Yes this is better - roses are picky and other flowers can be even more so - and rose's have thorns.....

soft focus created by multiple exposure in the camera......akkkkkk

You have a good rose photo here, I like the composition, your focus is sharp on the front rose, I even like the background. The one and only thing that doesn't draw me into this photo is the lack of depth made by shadows. It looks to me like the light source is the built in flash of your camera. May I suggest maybe not using it, but instead go for either natural lighting or something (anything) off camera. I have a photo where I used the light from my cell phone if you want to see what I am talking about. Keep taking pictures of flowers, I cant wait to see more!

Steve.

Nice rose . Is it Double Delight.? We have one and it is a beaut. I am not bothered by your background. Sometimes you just contend with it. Keep going forward!!

Nice Photograph of the rose.. And your right, I don't like what you did in the back ground, it draws your eyes away from the flower. If this was my photo I would PP all the background out to a solid black and only have your roses in the photo. Oh, and tell these other jokers, not to post photos on your thread, to start their own thread, it's in the rules.
