I am a relative newbie to digital photography.
My father was an avid film photographer so I've had my hands on all types of cameras from the youngest age. I grew up watching him figure and meter and adjust his way to some awesome photos.
I have decided to use digital photography as one method of feeding my creative side.
I'm happy to be here.
And we are happy to have you. Welcome to the Hog, Kyna. ;)
Welcome aboard. This site is very helpful - and fun, too.
Welcome to the family!
I see you're a super-zoom user. Many of us have the SX50, now seeing the 60, and there are other happy bridge camera users fans :)
Welcome. Interested in seeing some images from that SX-60. I have a Nikon DSLR, but my backup is a Canon SX-510. It does pretty well but lacks a viewfinder and the ability to shoot RAW. My next bridge camera will have both of those. I couldn't pass up a $200 closeout on a $400 camera, despite some shortcomings. If you have a tripod, you might get some shots of the full moon, you may be steady enough hand held, the IS on that camera you have is pretty good.

Hello and welcome to the forum. 8-)
Aloha KynaCreative and welcome to UHH.
Greetings, and welcome to the UHH.
welcome--... i have had my digital camera going on 3 years and i am still figuring out how to get the best shots with it... with your background you should LOVE what you can do ..
Thank you for all the warm welcome messages!
Happy to have this superzoom bridge camera in my hands.
I waited for the SX60 for the viewfinder, hotshoe , raw and Wifi capability as I often shoot for the web.
My choice was based on the desire to have a dslr-like tool that was easily carried in my purse. This one ticks all my boxes at an affordable price.
Mr PC, a tripod is in indeed in my future, but my son is already over 6 ft, so it needs to be pretty tall. I'm on the hunt for an appropriate model and a good external flash unit.
Steep learning curve, but I'm game.
