Pride of lions vs porcupine

No wonder he can hold off a pride of lions. Those quills are nearly a foot long!

BTW: How do porcupines have sex without getting stuck by the quills. Oh and how are they born without sticking the mother?

There are no quills on the underside of the body or tail. The female raises her tail over her back and they proceed in the usual way. Of course if she has a headache, there is no way the male will have his way with her.
