I went to the gym with the lights that make players look green, again! I took a bunch of pictures using the advice I got from the board and guess what, NO Incredible Hulks! But I did get some pics, I can't explain to the girls. Lighting great on the first, then darker on the second for the 2nd. Any help with an explanation.

This is because fluorescent and metal halide lights flicker in both brightness and color at 120 Hz. When shooting 1/250 or faster each photo captures only part of a cycle of the light, and you'll never know which part.
wow, I told them the light flickers in the gym and they thought I was nuts but now I have an expert to quote, thank you!
Yes, you have to shoot at 1/60 or slower to catch the whole cycle. Anything faster catches less than the full cycle. Certainly less than 1/125. Some fluorescents and all the mercury vapor lights do this.
I have hockey shots with different colors on the ice due to different lights being at different phases. Generally it is a greenish or sort of a magenta. There is NO fix for this except on a frame-by-frame basis. Ick.
I always enjoy reading your responses. You seam to know your stuff !!
