i'm not sure it will work,, without a macro lens. it might look kinda silly, on the end of my 300mm lens.

LOL It sure might. All you have is a 300mm? How do you shoot your closeups?

My lens is an 18-300MM.,,, i use it for just about everything. When i want to get closeups,, i back off, as far is i think i can, and use the close up setting, on my camera,, and then, i just zoom in. I know it's not the right way to do it, but it is the best i can do, without a close up lens. Maybe some day, i'll get a macro lens, but for now,, they are a little to pricey for me.

Got it, Randy, and who said that's not the 'right' way? If it works, go for it. The passion flower on my last post was taken with the 100-400mm fully extended. Works great! :-D

it's pretty interesting,,,as someone who is pretty new to this photography thing, how we can improvise, and make do. I do that a lot,, and i think i get some fairly good shots . i don't know how much you 'improvise', but you sure get some wonderfull photos.

Thanks so much for the compliment, Randy. Improvising sounds like a good post topic like what you did here. :-)
