My name is Katie and I am glad to be here. I moved from Georgia to the panhandle of Florida in the summer of 98. I am a single parent of a beautiful daughter. I have always been interested in photography since I was little and am looking to learn new things and relearn old ones too.
Our Family lived in Tallahassee for 10 years in the late 80's and 90's. Both our kids graduated from Leon High School. Great place to raise kids.

Thanks, Wow that is a beautiful picture Glenn.
If you live in the panhandle, take your daughter to Florida Caverns State Park, take the cave tour (you go not much more than 25 feet below the surface) and then go to the picnic area to enjoy the pond (Blue Hole, because of the color of the water), have a picnic lunch and maybe swim a little.

Thanks Glenn I will. She loves to be outside.
You might also want to consider a visit to Wakulla Springs near Tallahassee. A State Park, it was once a private nature preserve owned by the Francis Dupont estate. On the river boat tour, you can see alligators, herons and anhingas-a diving bird like cormorants that spread there wings after every dive in order to dry them. If you are lucky, you might see deer.
In the hot months, there is great swimming in a clear pool that originates with the longest caves in the US.
