Nice ones, David. I love the circular ripples (that sounds a bit stupid--have you ever seen square ripples, lol?) :-) :-)

Beautiful shots, David. I love the vivid color and water ripples in the first one.

The whole image was very sharp, but I softened the surrounding area to emphasize the bird and the ripples.

The color on the original one was a bit more dull. The shot was taken in the shade as the sun was setting, so I bumped the saturation to take the gray look from the water. Glad you enjoyed the shot.

I am always amazed by the way one can take a somewhat ordinary shot, and tend to it with a bit of PPing to extract the subtle attractiveness.

The subject matter is not necessarily anything new...just a mallard, but the environment lent to the final picture coming together.

I like the leaves. Did you use the 105mm for this shot? Beautiful!

Thanks riverlass. No, it wasn't the 105. I shot it with the 80-400mm. I take this as my walkabout lens when taking walks to the pond. I will have opportunities to shoot birds if I take the pond trails, so it is usually always on the camera. I carry a wider angle lens sometimes as well that I swap out if needed.
