Down fishing yesterday at Rock Island on the Columbia River at Trail, BC. Looking WNW, Highest Mtn. is Old Glory-7700ft above sea level-(great hike- was an old forestry lookout-cabin is still there)
It was a very tough time focusing on fishing- dead calm- 50 degrees, lawn chair- a dozen beer, sat there for 5 hours. Caught a couple fish (they went back), just mainly sat and took it all in!
Why would anybody travel anywhere when this is a 10 minute drive from your door step?
Hard to take!!!
An awesome sight, and how wonderful that you were able to enjoy and appreciate it!

WOW!! What a wonderful opportunity. All I get is downtown Dallas and that is about a 2 on 10 scale.
Some of my best pictures have been on days when I've been fishing and not catching. That's why I always have a camera with me! Nice landscape...
What a gorgeous photo. Would make a great window where there isn't a window. You can almost hear the water and wind moving.

If I ever get to B.C., I going to ring you up and invite myself to spend a day with you at that magnificent spot. And I'll bring the beer.
Great shot and thanks for sharing the experience.

Thanks JoAnne, I really like how you put that, "Make a great window where the isn't a window" Can I use that?

Thanks "Madman" I like your handle. First if you ever get here let me know, and you better make it more than a day. Lots of these places like this around here, 5-minutes to 2-3 hrs away you'll never see it all, and a different place every day, fishing is good, Rainbow Trout to 10lbs, Walleye(don't fish for them but thier here)- Lots of places within a 1/2 hr. I like the beer thing though!
