Nikon redundancy

I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on this for me. Nikon now is offering the D610, D750, and D810. I understand that the 810 is a couple of steps up from the other two, but what am I missing as the main differences between the D610 and D750?

Its a valid question. I thought the D750 should really be called a D650 myself. The flip-screen is the major difference and it appears that Nikon wanted to differentiate that with the numbering. Maybe a D780 with a 36MP sensor and flip screen is in the works?

Doesn't the D750 also have the D810's 51 point AF system

There are differences, and if they D750 was available when I got my D610, I would have bought that.

I thought when I first saw the pre-announcement specs on the D750 that it's original intention was to be the D600 successor, D610, D620 whatever they were going to call it. Then we had the problems with the D600 shutter and we all know what happened with the D610 -- was never really intended to be a actual upgrade to the D600 -- it was damage control. If things had not developed the way they did the D750/D650 would have been a very nice upgrade from the D600.

Thanks MT. I currently have the D600 and will probably wait for another one or two more models to upgrade.

Sometimes it appears that if they change one screw from brass to stainless, it's a different model. It seems they did make a decision with the Df, however.

I was having the same quandary trying to justify the $600 difference and after researching I came to these conclusions.
The 750 performs better in lower light. Has faster auto focus, WIFI, go to Nikon USA website for more information.
