Bright Sugar Maple

On my way to Smoky Mt.NP to get some shots of the early snowfall[they closed the roads] but on the way saw this vibrant maple . Love the colors and the way the sun came through. I did not do any PP but crop some road off the left side.

Autumn colour is beautiful, but here are my suggestions.
Fill the frame with a shot like this.
Get the branch to stretch from corner to corner.
Shoot on a calm day so the leaves are not blurry.
Shoot at an angle the optimizes the light so that it illuminates the leaves.
Sound tough? It is! It's probably one of the hardest shots in the world to get right.

I would have used a faster shutter speed and I find no center of interest.

What are you referring to when you refer to the main page? Are you referring to the Photo Gallery section? Are you referring to the Main Photography Discussion Section? The reason why it is appearing in the Photo Critique Section is because you did this.
1) Clicked on Create New Topic
2) Clicked on the drop down list that appeared
3) Chose Photo Critique Section from the drop down list.
In order to see any of the user managed sections in the drop down list, you have to subcribe to them. So, at one point you must have subscribed to the Photo Critique Section
If you want to post in Photo Gallery section, then choose Photo Gallery in the drop down list.

Main sections are managed by Admin and are automatically in your list. Sections that say Managed By with a name behind that phase are user managed sections.

This is an example of a dense random pattern of bright, close hues that captures the eye and keeps in thrall....delaying its escape as long as possible.
Personally, I am fascinated by such images.

Its quite a nice image MTG but the composition is a bit messy. The lines don't flow, the green patches are distractions and the uneven bottom edge looks like an intrusion.
A shallower DOF to blur the background could improve this type of image as well.
Great vision and great backlight, just needs the shot to be more about the composition than about the subject.

Thanks for all you comments. The photo of the maple was a little difficult to compose because if I moved the shot to the left I got a road and fence. If moved it up to have the limb come from top to bottom it was right into the sun.So I settled for what I could get.. I went back the next day but to many leaves had fallen.
As for the question of the page. Every morning I open up UHH and my topics are on a white page ,with blue letters. I scroll down to click on my post and it is not there. Thats what I mean about main page. I am probably not doing something right.. Anyway am enjoying the critique section and learning much.
