Was digging around in the closet and came across one I had forgotten about. My old Sony Mavica MVC-CD1000.... I'm going to charge up the battery and see if it still works.... 2.1 megapixels! Wow!

I had a Mavica CD-200 bought in 2002. 2 megs I took over 33,000 photos with it until 2013 when I got my Nikon D5100.
It was a good camera still have it often thought of getting the CD500. (5 megs)

I got the Mavica when I decided to get on the digital bandwagon. It replaced a couple of SLR's My Mavica was supplanted with a series of point & shoots. I didn't have another 'real' camera till I got my 5100. Looking at a 7100 for xmas!

I got my mavica for a 27 day tour of the British Isles. Didn't want to carry around film. Took about 2200 photos on this trip.

Very cool! I've worked in Mass transit in bus repair for 30 years. Even though these were relatively expensive when they 1st came out, we bought one like yours at my shop. Buses would often come in after their runs with 'mystery' damage. The drivers would blame it on the cleaners or visa-versa. Our ability to document the damage ASAP & upload a photo with a time -date stamp made a major impact.

Can you still buy the 3.5" floppy to fit those?

The 1.4 meg. 3.5 discs are still easy to get. There are also 3.5 disk to SD card adapters and you can still get Sony OEM 3.5 disk to Sony memory stick adapters..... What a world! :)

Still got mine. FD-71
It came after my Casio digital pocket camera. Get a whopping 40-50 pictures and find a computer to download to.
And the Mavica has a 10X ZOOM! SO sweet!

The Mavica gave the super convenience of disks. And you could pop the recorded images into the A drive.
Ah, the good old daze!
I haven't had an A drive for a number of years now.

The lens optics on that camera were quite good, if I remember correctly. Might be fun to use... pretend it's year 2000 again!

I used the Mavica for inspection of construction defects. It was and still is great for extreme close up work. The problem is gettingand reading the disks for the camera.
It is still great for certain work.
