I've seen a lot of elections in my life and my money is on pretty talk.

money. The big o has 1 billion dollars to spend(but he isn't a prisoner of special interests right?) this upcoming election is going to be the nastiest, dirtiest mud flinging contest from both sides since lincons in 1860. I plan to move to a cave in tibet to avoid all the hooha, but wait no domino's pizza in tibet never mind.

I agree. No matter what side your on, you must admit that the ads and commercials get more, and more out of hand every election. Something to think about: People are going to spend tens of millions $ to get a job that pays $400,000 a year. HHHMMMM?
This is pigpen, and I approve this message.
The economy will take care of itself over time without help from the politicians, it's already on a slight upswing, naturally... Obama's gonna claim credit for it. Most politicans change their stance on a lot of their own believe's for their advantage. Only two in the GOP race hasn't waiverd at all since day one...Santorum and Bauchman. Who's gonna win the GOP? Romney, because he has the $$$. A so called "good" politican can talk his or her way out of anything, the incumbent is a good example of that. The incumbent got elected soley on pretty talk, as far as resume..he was a "community organizer." I'd say "pretty talk" will get the next one elected.
I do respect the office of the president. but I will never support Obama. I do not care for his socialistic CHANGE....
He has done nothing but run up debt and give us a HC bill laced with a hidden agenda. What he might do in his last four years scares the H--- out of me. Obama is a very smart man and I sort of like him personally, it is a shame he has chosen to go the route he has....but he or someone believes his plan will work. I hope not.....

hey it takes talent to make clinton look like regan and jimmy carter to look competent.
It is a myth that campaigns get nastier as time goes on. One simple example is the contest between Adams and Jefferson. Google it. Makes most of today's negative campaigns look like childish banter. People are prone to regurgitate myths like this, not sure why but they do.
Who cares? This is a photography forum, not a soapbox for politics.
And besides, politicians come and go, but photography is forever.

Regardless of what happened in Jefferson's time, the campaigns during my lifetime have gotten nastier every four years, it seems. I don't think Obama is particularly smart, but his handlers are. However, he is ONE MEAN teleprompter reader!
I, too, am scared of what he has planned for the next four years, and if necessary I will hold my nose and vote for Romney, though Santorum or Bachmann would be far more likely to have our interests at heart.
There are three things that sum up my thoughts about this administration:
1. Fast & Furious, and Castaway
2. 16 trillion dollars in debt
3. Gasoline was $1.83 when Obama was inaugurated
Tibet is a bit too cold for me, but I am getting all my paperwork together, renewed passport, apostilled birth certificates, etc., to apply for permanent residency in Honduras. I will wait to vote in the next election, but I don't think it's possible to recover this country to what it was during my youth.
Besides, Honduras has Dominos Pizza!
