What's the difference between Digital Velvia and boosting color saturation? Do they get the same results? I'm a fan of color saturation and the Fuji Velvia look as long as it's not overdone.

It would appear that "Digital Velvia" is merely a name someone coined to describe a procedure in Photoshop to emulate the look of Velvia film. The settings given certainly must vary depending upon the colouration in the original, and I'm sure you could achieve the same results in any number of programs.

try a roll of velvia in a film camera, and you may see what you are missing.
All of the slide films rendered certain colors differently (i.e., incorrectly). Velvia turned skin tones a horrible red. Kodachrome rendered purple objects as blue. Each film had it's own color palette, and 'digital Velvia' is just trying to emulate Velvia's palette. It's not simply a matter of boosting the saturation (although it does that too, I'm sure).
