Took a trip to Monument Valley last week. Took the Sunrise and Sunset Tour with a Navajo Guide and here's a few shots I took. If you ever go to Monument Valley, be sure to take a tour with a Navajo Guide to see all there is to see. You can't go to these places on your own.
Stunning! Thanks for sharing.
great shots,,, I have been there a couple of times but never took the guide,,, guess I have to go back,,,
As you know, non Navajo's are not allowed off of the 17 mile loop in Monument Valley as it's all Tribal Owned. There are several family owned guide businesses and from my own experience, I can highly recommend Majestic Monument Valley Tour Company. We had a private tour in a large SUV with several four wheel drive units that propelled us up some steep inclines in fine sand that would be easy to get stuck in without this vehicle. We took a 3 hr. sunrise tour and a 3 hr. sunset tour. Very worthwhile. Since it's very dusty, an enclosed vehicle is the only way to go. Also, our guide grew up there and knew all of the back roads. We were very satisfied with the tour and again, can recommend it highly.
