This is a large metal sculpture in the 'Deep Ellum" area off Downtown Dallas. Located next to the light rail station, it's part of DART's 'Station Art' initiative.... 3 sec. at f5.6 and ISO 100....

Thanks... I work 2nd shift supervising diesel mechanics for DART ( it's a lot like herding cats ) & have been shooting stuff like this on my way home. The exposure issue is much more challenging than I thought it might be.... :?

How long did it take you to arrive at this exposure? It looks pretty darned good on the download too.

I often take a initial shot in auto 'landscape' & then switch to to Manual and use those settings as a guideline. I usually change the ISO 1st. (auto will often use 800) I like to keep it under 400 for details sake. I then pick an aperture that will give me the effect I want & take several shots at various speeds to get the exposure right. All that being said, it's still kind of a crap shoot... (sorry, couldn't resist  ) I've tried the HDMI setting on my camera but the extreme lighting variables seem to defeat it.

Keep up the good work A.J. Many things in life are a crap shoot. It's all good unless you are focused on the focusing and step in it.

Let me guess - $300,000 for "art". Nice work if you can get it . . .
