This is a photo of a snake taken at our lake house of a snake swimming by our dock. The cabin is located in northeast Pennsylvania north of Lake Wallenpaupak.
Can you put a name to this snake?

If the body floats on the surface of the water it is a Cottonmouth (Water Moccasin) If most of the body is under water it is a water snake. Water Moccasins have a triangular shaped head and a fat body that goes into a very short, thin tail. A water snake ha a small head, long slim body and a long tail tapered.
