Hi All,
I am new on this site and I am not an experienced photographer. I recently got a Canon Rebel EOS digital camera and defiantly need your help so I can prove myself as a photographer. I like going out and bringing my camera with me. I will post some of my pictures in the future for your comments and evaluations. I am starting my journey on this page with topic Error 99. I hope for a quick response so I can solve this problem.

trouble shooting section of your CAMERA MANUAL should have the apropriate info. Im a nikonian not a connonite so i dont know. But i do know to check my manual first if i have any problems with cameras.
Thanks for quick response and advice.
When I started out..I called Nikon a lot! Canon also has a toll free number..and they are there for you. The manuals can be very intimadating at times..sounds like you have something going on with either the compact flash card..or sd card..or lens. Turn camera off..take sd or flash card out..take lens off and reseat it..take battery out and put back in..try each one of these..if nothing works..look in manual to reset camera back to defaults might be a button right on camera body. good luck. then call canon..I bet its something simple..,,try a different memory card.or format the card.
Thanks you. I could not find how to reset the camera back to default. I hope it is simple ...
Look in manual under reset

it also could be something as simple as for auto focus the lens has to stay at largest f stop number on the lens. if not on nikons you get err maybe cannons is error 99
Thanks for all your help. Finally I called Canon support and after a couple of tests the final quote is: my quantaray 35-135 mm lens is not suitable for Canon. I'll continue use my 18-55 mm canon lens from now on.
