Would you share your overall opinion based on your experience? Other than better control access and weather sealing, how much improvement, if any, in the image quality? I looked in the archives and didn't find any previous topic discussions for this (maybe I missed it). Thanks,
I'm also considering an upgrade at some point to a D7100, it's successor or going full frame, maybe a D750 if I win the lottery. My understanding is that the 24MP sensor is about the same, will get a little faster continuous shooting, 2 SD Card slots, the ability to adjust the autofocus for each lens and the weather sealing along with easier controls. Just wish it had the articulated LCD, I really like that for weird angle shots. There's just been about $100 price drop on the D7100 and there are rumors a new model will be out in January. Decisions, decisions... I'm interested in answers to this post as well.

Yep, I feel exactly like you do.
Same here as well.
Thinking if I should just bite the bullet and save for a D750 or a D610 in the minimum.

Thought about that myself, but I haven't convinced myself that I really need a full frame camera yet.

Go for it. D6x0's are nice.

Agree, Harder to change... since the move from DX to FX means full change of lenses.
I do not have many units of "expensive glass" in DX format. (mostly Zoom with variable) but I have what covers most of my needs.
Still, to get from Zero to FX (including the body plus glass is costly).

Luckily I bought the 70-300 VRII to use on my 5100, knowing that I can use it on an FX if/when I buy one. My only other lens is the 18-55 DX kit lens (which is an okay lens). I don't own any "expensive" glass yet.

I unfortunately own pure DX lenses.
the 18-55mm kit, a 50-300mm zoom from Nikon.
and a Tokina 11-16mm VR II (for DX).

If I stay with DX, that Tokina is my next lens. How do you like it?

I love it, It lets me take very wide shots. (for a DX camera of course)
Note that I am in no way a pro photographer.
Most of my photos are mostly "opportunity" shots.

I did a few months ago. Can you tell which is which? I still shoot with 2 D5100 for work...so give your self some time to learn it.
Hi Bret, What lenses are you using with your D5100?

I'm going to guess/hope that the 1st one is the D7100, but they are very very close to each other. Am I right?
