It was a fun morning but a real challenge as the amount of light was rather limited ( in a forest, early in the day )

Meanwhile, birds tend to move fast and don't understand the concept of "posing" !

In order to get relatively clear photos I had to use High shutter speed and very high ISO.

Great work. I too have faced the challenge of bird photography and I think these are wonderfully done. Thanks for sharing I enjoyed seeing them.

Fantastic shots!! What length lens were you using to get these incredible closeups?

Great shots. You have illustrated extremely well why the extra few bucks for the higher ISO values are worth the money.

Well done!

Thank you very much. I was using a 70-200 F2.8 "L" lens with a 1.4 X extender.

The birds were anywhere from 5 feet to 15 ft away.

The hardest part was that there was very little light !

Thanks a bunch. I am glad I could use 10,000 and higher ISO and still have reasonably clear pics.

Thank you very much, I took several hundred shots, so eventually I will get a decent one now and then.

Thanks Bob, there is nothing like practice to learn and get a bit better.

Thanks ! The flying barn owl was indeed a challenge. Those birds fly really fast and not necessarily in a straight line so your focus has to be on that bird and follow it well.
