If you don't have the lens racked out to a ridicules length is there a mirrorless camera that takes tack sharp photos? So far what I have seen leaves me unimpressed. Everything always looks soft.

I hope someone can prove me wrong because I really want one :-)

www.fredmiranda.com click on the "alternative" forum

www.mu-43.com

Or search Flickr.

PS: I'm not really sure if you are serious or not. Do you think olympus, Panasonic, Sony, fuji are building duds? Or do you think hundreds of thousands of people who purchase mirrorless cameras can't properly focus? Where have you been looking?

Do you have a mirrorless camera yourself? What do you call a ridiculous length?
Are you thinking of a specific camera?

I have the Olympus OM-D E-M1. Have had it since about February or March of this year. It is a camera with a lot of buttons and settings, and even now, some 7 or 8 months later, I have only mastered a few things and still have a lot to learn. What I did manage though, is to take tack-sharp photos. Some with the lens fully extended to 40mm (it's a 12-40mm lens). Some with the lens only partially extended, and some with the lens not extended at all.
I've also used a 35mm Macro lens of the 4/3 system, and same results: some tack-sharp photos.
Sure, there are photos that look soft. And there are even photos that look worse than soft. Heck, you can't expect every photo you take to live up to what you expect it to be.
But in general: I'm very happy with my mirrorless camera, and while I still also use my dSLR, the smaller and lighter-weight mirrorless has become my "walk-around" camera.

To answer question I am serious about photos that are not tack, (razor) sharp. No I do not say that camera companies are putting out "duds" it's just the photo I have seen are not as sharp as I want or that stock companies will accept.

Like I said I do want one so I am seriously looking. Please send me your proofs from different cameras. I really want to see them. Don't get in a huff I'm just looking.

I'd be willing to post a couple of crops - after two bad experiences with posting photos to someone else, I will definitely never post my full-size photos or photos of my grandkids again.
Even the crops will have to wait till either later tonight or tomorrow - gotto go out tonight.

You would need weeks to go through the pictures from those links I posted the OP. She should go and take the time to see.

What I would like to see are the examples that she is talking about

I'm just going to be blunt. Nothing personal against you, but your I initial question is extremely ignorant. I am sorry. I still can't figure out how one can come to that sort of conclusion, not to mention "as a pro"?????
Do you not know that it is the person behind the camera that takes the picture? So if you see a picture that is not tack sharp, do you not automatically think that that is the user? I mean when I see a less than "tack sharp" picture or pictures posted anywhere that were taken with a dslr I just move on to the next one without ever having that thought cross my mind. Again, I apologise, but this is the most illogical question I have ever seen on a forum. (I wanted to use the word "stupidest" but don't mean to sound mean)

Sorry about your bad experience that must have been scary. But yes I would like to see other photos that you have taken with a mirrorless camera. Don't worry about when you send it. I just appreciate your help.

One other question does mirrorless mean the same as bridge? Maybe I'm confusing things.

Yes you are confusing things. I've given you links to look at. Have you?

There are 3 sensor sizes that you would want to be looking into. M4/3, aps-c and full frame

That ship already sailed. No need to be mean.

you may want to go to the last pages and go backwards. You will see newer lenses being used with the more recent pictures.

Bridge cameras are a type of mirrorless camera.

The cameras listed above are also mirrorless. They produce some of the best image quality available in the right hands. ;)
