I arrived at the sale price two ways: (1) I Googled used Nikon D800 cameras and they ranged from $1,600.00 plus to $2000.00 plus and B&H offered me $1,100.00. Unfortunately, the price figure in the Ugly Hedgehog is woefully incorrect--my fault.
