Lightroom 3 for $79.95

Adorama is having a one day sale on Lightroom 3 for $79.95. Thought that anyone thinking about it would want to know. Even with Lightroom 4 coming out, Lightroom 3 is a great product and I'm sure the upgrade plus the $79.95 will be less than buying version 4 new. (okay, I'm not absolutely sure, but I'm pretty confident)

I think the sale ended yesterday (Valentine's Day). I looked into what the upgrade might cost. Looks like $99, so you would be $198 into version 4. That would be a savings over retail.

I agree. When ever a new version of a software product comes out, and the previous version starts being sold at sizeable markdowns, I always remind myself that a year or two ago this older version was the neatest thing since sliced bread, and selling for $299. That makes the current $79 price a no-brainer. The Lightroom 3 that you buy today is no different than the $299 version of two years ago.
