Dying in Ecstasy?

Photographed at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Great River, NY. When I took this picture I thought the bee was alive, but after the creature did not move once the image was made, even with prodding from me, the realization that he/she was deceased dawned. Hopefully, being amongst all that pollen helped with the transition.

Critique, comments and suggestions welcomed.

Nice shot Bmac... the Bee made it easy for you by giving up its life...

This is a species of long-horned bees. They often sleep in flowers, in a near catatonic stupor.

When I die, I want to have a giant flower like that to be put on.
Very nice photo.....I like the colors, composition and interest level. If you had not told us that the bee was dead we would not know!

Interesting, so perhaps the fella wasn't dead after all. Good thing I didn't have him buried....or worse, cremated. 8-)
