Decided to use the 105mm on my D5100 today. Took a walk down the hill with the camera, a speedlight and diffuser. Kind of looking for the Tarantulas but so far... none.
Not much out there, but I offer a few for comments. Any advice is always welcome. All images were hand held and slightly PP'd.

All look properly illuminated. I never thought about dried Poison Oak leaves.

Nice selection and demonstration of how dry it is at the moment. I hope you take some more walks down the lane. I wonder why there are not more little spiders.

I looked, Brenda. Very few. Only one little daddy long leg in the garage. It was upside down and not being very cooperative. I couldn't get close enough without getting into a whole lot of webs and I don't do that. :-(

Old plywood is a great place to practice DOf. because of the layers and it doesn't move. These should have been taken on a tripod. Here's another one.

All of California is in trouble if we don't get some rain this year.
