Bridge needs editing.
This is one of the single shots I got of Dalbrack Bridge when I was doing some HDR bracketing from another viewpoint. The jpg is converted straight from RAW.
I have a DNG of the original RAW, but it was too big for UHH, so I tried lossy compression in the conversion to DNG. So there is a choice - a 13.8MB JPG or an 11.1MB compressed DNG. I haven't a clue which will give the best starting point for editing, so I'd be very interested in feedback on that subject. Jpg here, DNG to follow.
PS - The sky isn't blown. I checked. And to anybody who's interested, the compressed DNG is less than half the size of the non-compressed DNG (11.1 MB v 24.2 MB).

Windows Gallery doesn't want to open your DNG file.

You're right - not everything does. Lightroom or Photoshop will happily edit it though (there may be others - I don't know which).

I'd use the DNG...here's about a 3 minute edit with Camera Raw through Photoshop CC 2014

Hello R.G., below is your jpeg and underneath is an edit. The edit is cropped in more with a 16:9 format. Shadows have been lightened and structure and sharpening applied. 8-)

I downloaded the JPG file and found that it's 69k in the properties. Does that sound right or should it be a few meg. If it's not right I will try saving another way. I want to put it through the Topaz Clarity effect that I've been experimenting with.

Thanks for the (amazingly) quick response CD. A very natural-looking edit and a well-rendered sky.
Any reason for recommending the DNG? Better compression? Less or no artefacts?

Hi geolaval. It should be 13.8 MB. 69KB sounds like a thumbnail, and a small one at that. Did you click on (Download) or did you right-click on the image. Clicking Download is the right option.

I find that it recovers highlights much better, IMHO.

Hi Bmac. Thanks for another quick post. You can probably see why I shot an HDR bracketed version. I love what Structure does to stonework.

Interesting. I know that EBTR takes advantage of the extra dynamic range that RAW has over jpg. Same advantage here?

Here's my rendition R.G.
Topaz, Clarity, Architecture, Cityscape3.
For some reason the 13.2 meg versions wouldn't upload so I reduced it to around 9 - 10 meg.
Feel free to give your opinion. Thank you.
George.
tried to upload what I had done, but I am out of bandwidth so the photo took forever to load, and then it was not visable. Its a great photo for sure without any edits. Kudos from me.
