Has anyone used Nations Photo Lab in Maryland?

They have very reasonable rates for prints, I ordered seven 11x14 glossy prints and it was around $33 including shipping (which is free if you order $50 or more), my shipping was $7.00. I sent the order electronically Tuesday night about 10:30 p.m. and got a shipping conformation email Wednesday (the next day) at about 1:00 p.m. If the prints look good I will certainly order more from them. I think that's cheaper than I could print them myself. I will keep you all posted when I get the prints as to how they look. I sent jpg's but I think next time I may try sending tif's and see if they look any better.
Anybody else have experience with them?

I am a "hobby" photographer. So far I've only done pictures for immediate family and close friends, but I have used Nations Photo Lab for a few years now and love them! If there's any problem that they see (bad quality after printing), they call. I have also ordered lots of canvas prints from them and they have all been absolutely wonderful! The only problem that I don't like about them is that you cannot order different types of prints on the same order (canvas prints, metallic prints, lustre prints all have to go on separate orders). That's my only complaint.

Thanks for the input. I will keep in mind the "can't mix print types" thing. I'm really glad to hear you have been pleased with them. :)

John,

I have also used them for some time. I had them print personal as well as images for three billboard shots, and 35 Easter photos of kids with an Easter Bunny to name just a few . I have had canvas, metallic, luster, and glossy prints all with their color corrections and have never been disappointed.

One time I received one print that appeared to have had an obvious flaw in processing, and after contacting them, they sent me another print of the same image with no costs whatsoever to me.

Quite professional processing and their packaging is superior in my opinion compared to another online processing company I have used. I don't think you can go wrong with them. Any number of prints and/or variable sizes order totaling below $50 is a standard $7 shipping cost. I have bought wallet, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, and 16x20 prints and all were very professionally done. I use the Roes downloaded application on my Mac.

Best Regards,
Tom

Have not used them for a while, but loved what they did in the past.

Thanks to all of you who replied! I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

I did get my prints back and I am most pleased with their work! All seven glossy 11x14 prints look great! :)

I even ordered more last night from 5x7 all the way up to 20x30. Now I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas, can't wait to see them. :)

John,

I never ordered a 20 x 30 print from NPL; do me a favor and let me know how it turned out; quality, color accuracy, sharpness, and tonal quality of faces/skin if that applies to your image. All that I mentioned have always been excellent up to the 16 x 20's I have ordered, so I am guessing the 20 x 30 print will be just as good. Thank you.

Best Regards,
Tom

My second run of prints shipped out today. I ended up cancelling the 20x30 when I notice I had sent in a 160dpi image. I re-ordered the 20x30 today upped to 300dpi. Had to use ROES though because it was 41.3MB and the limit is 40MB per image for a regular web page upload. May be a little while before I get the 20x30 though, they said there was high demand right now and it might be 2 or 3 days before they print it. I will keep you all posted. :)
Their customer service is fantastic though! Love this place so far. :)

John,

Thanks for the update. I am anxiously awaiting to hear how the 20 x 30 image printed and turned out.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back on to report... I got all my photos back and I must say that 20x30 looks fantastic. Most of the pictures I sent in, including the 20x30, were taken with my Nikon D300, which is a 12MP camera. The only ones that look a little grainy are the scans from film or slides that I took in 1999. That is to be expected though. So I'm one happy camper. :)

John,

Thanks for not forgetting me. I have a D200, but haven't used it for quite some time since I've had my D800. I have to admit, I love those 35-36 MB images. I can crop them way back and get no graininess at all. They are so forgiving, if need be, & I didn't frame the shot well or messed up the composition! I have always been very happy with NPL with all the different images they have processed for me.

Best Regards,
Tom

John,

Out of curiosity, what did you get such a large print of - a portrait, a landscape scenery shot, or a Macro perhaps? Thanks.

Most Appreciative,
Tom

But not true. You have to order each size separately, but in the special instructions for the second or third orders, you can request that they combine with order #XYZ to save on shipping. At least that's what their customer service folks told me to do, and it worked. Yes, excellent prints, quick turnaround and good packaging at reasonable prices.
