Here are my first 3 shots with the SX60. They are SOC JPEG files with no PP.
The camera has a nice feel to it, much more comfortable to hold than the SX40 or SX50.
I find the photos a little soft. Some of this could be the default JPEG settings. Later I will work with the RAW files when I have time to download and install the Canon software.
The EVF is much improved over the previous models as is the LCD display.
The main complaint that I have thus far is there is no dedicated ISO button. I tried to assign the ISO to the Shortcut button but didn't have that option. I have assigned it to My Menu for now.
Thanks for posting. Someone else had mentioned the lack of ISO button, which is so puzzling to me. Great to hear the viewfinder has improved!

I am so used to quickly changing the ISO. Having it on My Menu is not so bad but I do hope in a future firmware there will be the option to assign it to the Shortcut button. Perhaps when and if CHDK supports the SX60, that will be an option.
Thanks for the posting. They didn't seem soft to me, just a bit noisy. I saw that the camera has incamera noise reduction settings. Did you use one?

The have the High ISO NR as standard. All the settings are the default except I changed the JPEG setting from Fine to SuperFine. The JPEGs do seem to have a bit more noise that the SOC SX50 files.
I usually work with the RAW files where I can sonewhat tame the noise.
This is first I heard of missing ISO button. I often change the ISO on my sx50 depending on what I am shooting. Do you have go into the menu setting each time?

I am anxious to hear more and see more reviews. I may go ahead and pick one up tomorrow or the next day. I tried the HX400v and P600 and returned both of them. They were okay but that's about all. I have high hopes for the SX60HS.

I think one of the things you'll enjoy about the sx60 is its ability to shoot raw in all modes...including burst...which is something the sx 50 wouldn't allow you to do.
My wife (sleepydrdr here) is having a lot of fun with her sx60...and her shots are very sharp...so I wouldn't worry about softness.
I inherited her sx50

The SX50 can shoot burst. Check the scene mode!

Yes it does...but not in raw...

Everyone does not need raw!
That's true you don't have to use raw all the time! :hunf:

They were all shot at ISO 100 and hand held. The images can be downloaded and you can view the EXIF data.
