For the last few years I've been attempting to capture the fall turn in the Hudson Valley. I spend most of my time between Tarrytown and Poughkeepsie on both sides of the river. Here are a few from this year.

I see it as well - no biggie. On the waterfall, I would have included more of the top right corner bridge. It seems to have been cut off. All good though .... nice work

These are beautiful! My daughter goes to New Paltz so I am planning on spending a weekend up there if I can to photograph (and see her of course..lol). Where did you take the second shot? Oh- just realized you said Fort Montgomery. Is that open to the public?

Well, neighbor! And I also have a cormorant in my ID Photo. Here's a shot I took of the same Dam, printed on vellum and backed with gold leaf.

A beauty. Please tell us a bit about the vellum/gold printing.

Actually, it's even better than what I wrote. . . it's also a platinum/palladium print.

Basically, it's this:
1. a digital negative is printed on a transparency;
2. platinum/palladium mixture is painted on vellum, and dried;
3. a contact print is made, with the negative over the vellum;
4. the print is developed and dried;
5. glue is applied to the back of the vellum;
6. gold leaf adhered on the back with the glue;
7. varnish sprayed on the back to protect the gold.
