You do realize that it is Harry Reed that refuses to bring the v**e on the President's choice to a v**e. If he did, then vulnerable Dem. Senators would have to either v**e yea(thus showing support for a gun control focused Attorney's General and piss off their constituency) or v**e no ( thus making this weak President look even weaker than he currently does by not getting an appointment by a Dem controlled Senate.)

The Prez could have a Surgeon General tomorrow if he'd just put forward one who, in the words of Chucky Shumer, "had views more inline with the mainstream", instead, he nominated somebody controversial and seen by some to have extremist political views.
