Cropping question...

Took this photo several months ago and have done nothing to it. I am curious to know if it is worth saving and if so, how should it be cropped? Thanks...Jan
Purple coneflowers
I don't think it needs to be cropped. I'd try to darken the background a bit.

Thanks snowbear. I appreciate your reply...Jan
I think it might benefit from cropping just a bit off the top. There is really nothing up there of interest and you put the middle flower smack in the center of the frame. I would also clone out (or maybe crop out) that little stick-like thing over on the far right.

I think it's a decent photo, I have one similar actually. I agree that it dosen't need cropping and I think it's worth saving. 8-)

Wouldn't it be difficult to crop off from the top and still keep all three flowers CaptC? 8-)

Not at all. He's talking about keeping the bottom half and losing the top half.

Well, I crop to fit the image and ignore whether it fits any standard 4x6, 4:5, 5x7, etc. format. We should crop for aesthetics, not frame size.
Having said that, if you want to keep it for a standard frame size....well...you are screwed. :-)

Fine by me, but I'm not the OP. :)

I know it's not my image but I'd love to learn something here.
I agree with the Captain, crop the top of the photo and clone out the stick on the right. I often crop my photos to non-standard sizes with the thought in mind that I could custom frame it.
As I do my own mat cutting I find myself doing more non-standard size croping, and framing.

is it very hard to cut your own mat? My husband can build frames(when he gets around to it) and I would love to know how to cut my own mats. Sure would save on matting and framing.
