Am considering a fuji 6800. B&H has a good deal on one. I've noticed that it has sensor-shift stabilization. Will I find it difficult to frame or compose pics at long telephoto and end up wishing I had gone with a camera with optical stabilization?
I have the Fuji Finepix HS10, which is somewhat similar to this camera. Both are low priced bridge cameras with the advantage of 30x zoom, and both use sensor shift stabilization. The downside of the HS10 is if shooting raw and jpg, it takes about 3 seconds to save a single shot. I'm not sure what the specs on the 6800 are. Cameras like these are the only way to get a long telephoto without spending a lot more money. I have nothing else to compare them to except my dslr, and I don't have any lenses on that to compare to a 720mm equiv lens. But I will attach a couple of pics taken handheld with the HS10 zoom camera, and will say this is probably as good as you can get handheld. Bear in mind the lens is just not going to perform like a 500mm or 600mm zoom on a dslr. But you won't have to pay $900 to $1300 for just the lens either.

Here's one taken with a Fuji S200exr 459mm (35) Hand held, optical stabilization.

Can you Attach this pic with the "(store original)" box checked so it can be downloaded? I'd like to see it at full resolution to compare with my 428mm flying firds shot.
Thanks.
Bob
