That's the only thing I hate about buying a new computer - having to reinstall all the software - with activation codes. My C: drive has about 250GB of program files.
Jerry... that's a lot of program files! Win7 takes approximately 15 -20GB of data including the page file. I have probably 10 very large programs and 2 or 3 dozen small programs, and I'm using only 80GB total on my system drive.
It's not quite Spring yet, but it sounds like you may need to do some cleaning... Installing an SSD is the perfect excuse. :-) What application hogs so much space? Perhaps I'm missing something? Just curious.

All my programs go on C:, and all my data goes on H: Each is roughly half full. I have a lot of Adobe. I suppose I should try to remove some programs I'm not using.
I see I still have CS4 on there. I guess that should go.

Still... CS4 & CS5 consume maybe 1GB each. If you add all those big ones up, it doesn't even come close to 100GB. If you care, perhaps you should view the properties of each folder under C: and find out where your hog is? Maybe your browser temp folder needs to be purged?

Good excuse to stay inside and work at my computer. Thanks for that idea.

If you'd like to make this task easier on you, there is a small app called "DISKdata" that will summarize all your directories for you.
http://www.diskdata.com/This is trialware. It's not graphically pretty, but it's fast and efficient. I'm curious to see what it finds... however, you many not want to post here. :-) Good luck.
