I guess if you want to take pictures of planes landing, this is a decent beach for it. Otherwise...

Gotta get those bloody wheels down, or it's kaput. 8-)
The amazing thing about this beach and people is when the planes are revving their engines for take off, people will be clinging to that fence on the right for the "thrill" of the jet blast.
Have your ear plugs in? Had a camera stolen there many years ago. We would pick up friends who flew in on our inflatable there.
This would be just too cool. Don't know how long I could stand the noise, but it would be very interesting to experience.
Isn't it amazing that at this point they don't just fall right outta the sky???

Hi Bmac
Do you remember the name of Kennedy Airport before it was Kennedy? Without looking it up that is?

Been there a couple years ago. Great bar at the end. One of the jets was taking off and before departing the pilot opened the window of the cockpit and waved to that crowd hanging at the fence. The smaller planes come in even lower. FYI its St. marteen.

Depends on which half of the island your on, One half is French and the other half Dutch. The better half seems to be a nudist colony. Thta runway is real scary but the one in St Croix (I believe) is worse. the planes glyde down through a gap in the mountains and it seems like a 20 ft gap between the wings and the mountainside.

They had an airline here called British West Indian Airways (BWIA) and the airline was known locally as "But Will It Arrive".
I used to fly 707 and 747' from London to Trinidad and in 300 years odd they never had a single incident!
