Did you grow the garlic? I used to when I lived in NW Michigan and I would let the stems dry and then braid and hang in the house for decoration and cooking. You always seem to bring out great memories for me from the north! :-D

I grow my own and we braid some but these I bought because I wanted a milder garlic as I planted 70 cloves last fall, German Red, Korean and a Hungarian sort
Glad to bring back memories. Were you Youper?
Spent this morning taking engagement pictures of my niece and fiance, so, combined autumn colors with portrait challenge. Both are musicians and wanted to use a bike as part of their plans. The bike is a Schwinn my husband restored. Hard to pick the fav shots. Twill be a challenge. These are all straight from the camera.
They wanted trees with color
And they wanted a stone wall
And they wanted a field with some color.

No, not a yooper, we lived about 35-40 miles NW West of Traverse City and about 25-30 miles SW of of Charleviox, MI. Basically the upper left of your ring finger tip of your right palm. So cool to know that other folks grow garlic, it tastes SO much better than grocery store bought.
I used to grow what my mother-in-law elephant toes. It was very mild. We moved and I didn't take any with me.

I like the bike, Pat, really like it

Been dere, picked cherries!
Out here there are three things:
Big hills
Big farms
Big sugarin'
Early fall, what you might call 2nd or shared harvest.
