First of all thanks to all who helped me set up my website... i am very pleased i am number one with www.mauisunsetphotos.com and hawaiiansunsetphotos.com on google. It`s great but the cash register ain`t rining... what are best advertising solutions to help get the sites going?..... thanks again

Found your website - it obviously works.
I know Hawaia is on the side of the globe but does that make the sea level higher at one side than the other? it does seem that way in your photos...

The market is saturated with shots of sunsets. Have you googled "sunset photos"? How many are there? Half a billion or so, right?
And if you have, are yours better than what's already out there? If not, you have your first clue.

Thanks for your input.. not really interested in negative can go there all by my self ... need some help with marketing to make it work.. any positive ideas?

This isn't negative-it's honest. Can you stand back and unemotionally compare your photos to others in the same genre?
If they're not substantially better, then you need to go back to the virtual drawing board, because all the marketing in the world isn't going to help you.
The photos on your site, to me, anyway, are entirely average, no better than the average vacation shots anyone can, and does, take.

No i dont think you are an ah.,i appreciate your opinion... also i am no ansel adams... i do think my photos are better than average and like them because they are not photo shoped to the max.... i have been in sales and marketing for over 30 years and know that even a sub standard product will sell of properly marketed

I have to agree with the others about the pictures. Please be honest with yourself. Why do you think those that process pictures sell well? Also, many of the horizons should be at least level. Unfortunately, your pictures are not that special so not sure how anyone will be able to make people click on the purchase button. I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but I did feel the need to reply. Maybe improving your photo/PP skills is a great next step to drive business towards your work. Good luck!

The truth of the matter is that it can be very difficult to sell photography from a web site. I have been selling my work for over three years now and my web site accounts for less than 1% of my total sales, if that.
When people buy art, they are much more apt to go to a gallery or art festival where they can see the art up close, in person, and where they can interact with the artist. Those that do buy online, are usually already familiar with the artist and his/her work; they are not searching blind for sunset photos. ALL of my web sales have been the result of people having seen my work at festivals or having bought from me at festivals in the past.
Since you are not selling in other venues, you are faced with the task of getting your name out there and convincing people to visit the site. You might, for example, set up a Facebook business page and then use a Facebook ad to try to generate some traffic. You will need to be prepared to lay down some cash to advertise.
Also, consider joining an artist coop gallery where your work can be seen and your website can be promoted.
Good luck in your efforts.

Many things have changed in this digital age. Recording artists these days aren't successful with records are doing more live performances. Photographers who once made good money with stock photos are being offered pennies (actually) these days.
If your work doesn't stand out, you don't have a chance. Look at the competition photos here on UHH. Many of them are really excellent, but how many of them are leading to actual sales?
