Adobe CC

I've been asked by a club member about Adobe's Creative Cloud yearly subscriptions. I personally do not use CC so I am asking fellow HH's for their experiences.

Specifically, have you had yearly rate increases after your initial subscription? This person says "Adobe is being suspiciously vague whenever she asks them what will happen after her first year is up?"

Please pass on your experience with CC, both positive and negative as I am sure this will set off some discussion. Thank you in advance.

This thread might be better served in the Post Processing Digital Images Section

I have had CC since nearly its inception. I have been very happy with it.
I highly recommend it to all my friends that are ready to upgrade, or are just dipping their toes into the post processing pool.

Living in the silicon valley, I attend a lot of Adobe seminars at Adobe HQ.

The managers and Adobe executives who attend these have always said that there is no intention to raise the pricing on the photographers program in the near or far future. They will not guarantee that the price will forever stay at this price, just that they have no intention to do so.

I've used Adobe PhotoShop for over 20 years. There are gripes, community and occasionally personal, but overall Adobe has performed as the market will bear. It's a good deal, and likely will remain so until buyers stop buying it.

Have used the CC photographers $9.99 @ month package since it was announced. Price has remained the same thus far, and product is well worth the cost. I personally don't expect them to raise it quickly or much because they already tried out other price points on us and we balked to the point that they had to meet us at this one. So, they know where we are. We would have more to fear if they'd actually started at this price. Then they would experiment to see how far up we'd go.

This is why I've stayed with PS CS6. Unfortunately, CS6 is a scarce find if you want to install it. Even if you could get a pristine copy, getting a license from Adobe to use it is another story.

Hmmmm, managers and executives have no intentions of raising price... We all know what road is paved with good intentions.

Since most of us also take video with our cameras these days, wouldn't it be nice to include the Premier in the $9.99 or even increase it a couple of bucks. I just cannot see paying $19,99 for Premier in addition to my $9.99 as an option. Might just buy the lite version they still sell.

When they first introduce the $9.99 price for the cloud, they said that would be the price for good unless you cancel or miss any of your payments, then the deal would be off and you would have to pay the next higher amount. So far they're sticking to it and confirm that the amount of $9.99 will stay and it includes all future upgrades (that's what makes this such a good deal)!!!

Speculation can be construed to be anything you want. The record on Photoshop/Lightroom pricing has shown a strong downward trend, from $30 for a single app (PS) to $10 for LR and PS. The requirement that you own a license for CS4 or higher has also been dropped, along with talk that the pricing is promotional. They are on record stating that pricing will be the same for the foreseeable future. FWIW.
