Cleaning INSIDE the lens

My Sigma 18-50 mm has a sticky focus ring near the front. My feeling is there's possibly some dust or grit in there. Is there a way to fix the problem & thus avoid taking it to the local camera store?

Nope, it is way to hard to take apart and get it back together with everything lined up right. Sorry, off to the shop.

Agree. Let the professionals do it.

If you did it yourself, even correctly, each time you have a bad shot you wouldn't know if it was the way you put it back together.

My shots were coming out a little blurry. It was the lens closest to the camera that had the fungus on it. It's too bad, because it was the Sigma 70-300 which I purchased with my Nikon 6006 and it was pretty crisp.

I replaced it with the Nikon 28-300 ED VR, which is a pretty nice lens.
