As we are getting our homes closed up for the winter, this is a good time to not just look, but see with fresh, creative eyes the things we have collected over the years. We all get used to the things we have. After some time we become blind to them, and sometimes even forget they are there. Take a look around the house and see what you have not paid any attention to in a while. It could be a book, a painting, a knick-knack, or spouse (just kidding, but if the shoe fits...). See if you can tell a story about yourself by photographing your treasures. Share the memories they invoke. Look specifically for recurring or interesting patterns and shapes in the objects, and in the shadows they cast. Most importantly, have fun rediscovering.

Thom, thanks for hosting a challenge. My first thought was to post a picture of dust because that seems to be what is collecting around my house! I'll think and post probably tomorrow.

Thom thanks for the cool challenge, should be a fun one. Ok I did not take the first 2 but I did take the last one with an ASAHI PENTAX SPOT-O-MATIC I had bought my dad while I was in Germany.

There is nothing more important, or to be more cherished, than family. Very handsome crew, Dane. Cool Bronco too.

I'll post some pictures taken with my "old" camera since I've been working non stop-no time to play :(

Of course it's my doll collection-this one reflected in a mirror- one of the more contemporary age brides

Great challenge Thom! Thanks for hosting! Will be back later to post...headed off to buy an old fashioned mouse trap! Heard some noise last night and opened the cupboard to find John's cough drops spread all over the cupboard!...They are all gone this morning! LOL! Do mice get colds! ;-) Meanwhile my two cats are oblivious to what is happening! sigh.....

I collect too many things (caught that from my husband). I have upwards of 50 photo albums, for one thing... Other things I collect, often by default. I am in the process of trying to "weed out" and get rid of some things but I seem to add more than subtract! I also collect nativities, but have none of them in photos and I'm not about to dig them out now.

Tea cups from several generations. Bone china. My mother and her family were from Canada and tea in beautiful cups was traditional. I have 3 generations of cups. The cabinet is my one and only woodworking project. It was a kit and my husband thought it was time I learned how to make something myself :)
