Has anyone use the Tamron 18-200mm lens, does it have VR and how is the quality compared to the Nikon 18-200mm with VR

Go to Bandh.com, look up the lens, and check out the reviews. You can also see if it has VR or not. VR won't matter for stopping motion though..

Tamron makes an 18-200mm with VG, but only for Sony E and Canon M mounts. The 18-200mm lens they make for DSLRs does not have VC.
You might look at their 16-300mm model which does have VC in it. Here is a link to their line of all-in-one lenses:

I have the Tamron 18-270mm with VC and it is terrific! I find it better than the Nikon 18-200 or even the 70-300. It is lighter and much faster than either of these two.

The Tamron 18-270 is a great lens; fast focusing, light weight and with vibration control and it currently has a $50 rebate .

The
Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II Macro Lens for Nikon Digital SLR
Does not have VR type stabilization. I do not know what Tamron's name for VR is.

I use Tamron lenses regularly and the 18-270 almost always. They work for me.
