So the UK has joined he US and allies in bombing Iraq.It was inevitable, of course, we don't like to be left out but will bombing defeat those monsters? None of us want to get caught up in another shooting war on the ground after Afghanistan.
I just read that earlier. Will bombing alone defeat them? Not a chance. In order to truly take them down it's going to have to be coordinated with ground forces. Which is about the last thing I really want to see but if I had to bet the farm - We'll be back in there in a matter of months.

It's a horrible situation. If we do nothing, they can continue to grow and develope and attack us. These people are crazy.

So what do you suggest?
T***hfully I don't know.I h**ed seeing our boys brought back in body bags from Afghanistan and we have many with no lower limbs but, as someone who fought in the last war I know these Islamists monsters must be stopped and if it means troops, so be it.

Body armor has gotten so good that loss of limbs has replaced loss of life.
We have to stop trying to impose our idea of democracy on people who are not ready for it and live in unstable tribal states. The Afghans have been at war for the last 1000 years either with outsiders or amongst themselves. Iraq and other countries in that part of the world are similar.
The militants are crazy for sure but need finance and arms to wage war. Cut off these supplies via draconian sanctions before we consider waging war trying to impose a way of life on people who will not thank us. Use wh**ever method is needed to get bank accounts frozen and arms sales stopped. Swiss bankers can be beaten and economic sanctions against Russia will dramatically slow the delivery of arms to these terrorists. Sink any ship found to be carrying arms to these states. Legalizing piracy is better than bringing home our guys in body bags.
Watching the History Channel last night I got a great idea concerning ISIS/ISIL and how to deal with them.
US Special Forces Teams consist of 3 designations
A Team is 10 to 12 soldiers, trained to k**l in many ways, speak foreign languages multi talented etc etc
B Team is support for several A teams
C Team is the command and support.
Other countries might call them Commando Teams but again are the best trained of that countries military in insertion, stealth and trained to k**l.
So we go to our allies, request assistance with Special Forces or Commando Teams so we end up with maybe 80 to 100 teams in total. We insert them into Iraq/Syria for a couple weeks and tell them "Show me the result of your training" and let them seek out the POS, Flea Infested, Camel/Goat loving ass-holes for us.

I would like to impose a bit more. With bullets, bombs, the kitchen sink and a toilet if possible. They are crazed, sadistic people with no regard for life. If we can't bomb the s**t out of them to rid the earth of them, they will come looking for the infidels within a few years. Europe first and then the U.S.
Get rid of these scum by any means and I mean any means.

But surely we are not " trying to impose a way of life on people who will not thank us." We are trying to prevent THEM from imposing THEIR way of life (Sharia Law) on US and the rest of the world.

If they had not beheaded those americans we would not be bombing them.
After the video came out Obama had to do something his ratings in the polls were falling like a stone.
We have e******n in November the Democrats want to try to keep the senate so ole jug ears agreed to the bombing.
What we have is a political bombing Obama knows no one wants another ground war but bombing them is popular so there you have the reason why he changed his mind it is nothing more than trying to keep the Dems in control of the senate because if they louse it Obama is screwed.

The US, of course, has to be ashamed on the world stage again as our congress, both parties, are too cowardly to v**e on war. Our soldiers are going to be on the ground but we have to preserve our e******ns here because no congressman wants to make a decision since it may hurt them. In this case, we're not trying to impose a way of life, we're trying to keep the radical's way of life from our shores.
